Outwest Furniture

"The Little Warehouse with Huge Savings"

About Us

History

Julie Troxler took the reins of Outwest Furniture in 2003 when it was solely a mattress outlet. She has since single-handedly turned it into the furniture Mecca it is today, all while raising three grandchildren with her daughter. She opened the store with one philosophy: provide quality furniture at a discounted price in a friendly, honest, and no pressure atmosphere. The success of the store today stands as a testament to that principle.

How Outwest Furniture Works

We are a small, family owned store located in a warehouse off Huffine Lane in Bozeman. Our showroom is stocked with all kinds of new furniture, antiques, custom made furniture, and mattresses, all available for sale. Since we are a small warehouse, we simply don't have the room to stock everything we sell. We do, however, have many catalogs, and anything and everything in them are available to us. The process works like this: a customer comes in and finds a bedroom set they want. If we don't have it in stock, we order it from them. The customer puts half down on the purchase, and ten days later it shows up. We call them once it gets off the truck and voila! They have exactly what they ordered, and at a fraction of the cost of the alternative. Furniture and diamonds, it turns out, have the highest mark-up of consumer goods in the country. Most retailers add 100-300% of their cost to the final price. We at Outwest Furniture think this is hogwash and add only 30-50%, depending on volume. On new furniture, our pricing works like this:

Our cost Mark-up less that $500 50% $500-$1,000 40% greater than $1,000 30%

By having a system like this, we are able to help share savings with our customers while still being a successful business. And the huge savings on product have always outweighed the small inconvenience of customer pick-ups. Stop by and see our win-win philosophy in action! As always, we look forward to meeting you!

FAQ'S

What happens if I order an item and it arrives damaged?
We simply take a photo, send it to the company, and they send a new one on the next order. And if there is a discrepancy on their end, we usually just buy another one, swap it out with yours, and deal with the company later.

How long does it take to get my order?
Most orders on new furniture take ten to fourteen days (real days, not business days). Occasionally items we order are out of stock at the company, in which case they are automatically put on backorder. We then contact the customer and let them know, giving them an estimated time of arrival. If this doesn't work for the customer, we either change the order or cancel it, whichever they prefer. For mattresses which aren't in stock, we order every Monday and receive the order the following Monday or Tuesday. Custom pieces can take a little longer, depending on how much work is needed and the current work load of the craftsman, but usually run about 2-3 weeks.

What are your hours?
Outwest Furniture is open Monday-Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm Other times by appointment

What is your return policy?
Since we do a large amount of ordering for people, we must maintain an "All Sales are Final" policy. We just don't have the room to stock what we don't normally keep. That being said, life is a constant flow of motion and things happen in the world that are out of our control. If a situation comes up, we are always willing to listen and work as best we can with our customers.

What type of warranty to you offer?
Most new furniture comes with a one-year warranty. Custom furniture varies by piece, and antiques are sold as is. Mattress warranties vary from 7-year prorated to 20-year lifetime, depending on the model. Treated with care, though, the furniture we sell will last many, many years.

Do you deliver?
Unfortunately, we neither have the means nor the man power to deliver.

I saw a piece on your website that I want to hold. Can I do that?
Sure! Just give us a call and let us know which piece and we will hold it for a few days for you.
